DESCRIPTION
DX7 Librarian is an application for the Macintosh which allows you to make up library of voice data for DX7. One window has one voice data, and you can open windows as many as you want. (It's only limited by partition size of the application.) When this application receives bulk dump MIDI data, new window will open and show you the parameter. You can keep 32 voices in one file, so it's easy to replace DX7's internal 32 voices.
Because almost all of the operation is performed by AppleEvent, you can record and play back your operation by using Apple Script.
This application requires :

HOW TO USE
If you have DX7, I think it's very easy to use this application. All you have to do is to click parameter you want to change. Then you will see dialogs which enables you to change parameter. If "Send When Changed" item in Transmit menu is checked, parameter change Sys.Ex MIDI data will out while you change some parameter.
DX7 has EG copy function between operators, but this application enabls you to copy every parameter in operator by drag-copy.
In 32Voices window, you can re-arrange order of voices by drag-drop.
EXTRACT button opens the new window with selected voice parameter.
When you select "32Voices" in Transmit menu, a dialog which includes two lists is shown. The list labeled "Individual Voices" shows each windows you opened, and remaining list labeled "32Voices" is correspod to DX7's internal voices. You can drag-copy between each list. When you fill up right list, OK button will enabled and you can send MIDI bulk dump Sys.Ex data to DX7 or save 32Voices into one file.
Only operations in this dialog won't recorded by Apple Script.
If you hold down Option key when you select File menu, New item changes to Random New. (Command+Option+N works same)
If you hold down Option key when you select Windows menu, instead of window title, voice name will shown in the menu.
If there are MIDI Manager and OMS installed, DX7 Librarian sends out MIDI for both simultaneously. (Exactly the same message.) So if you connect output port of DX7 Librarian to MIDI Manager compatible applications using PatchBay, the applications can get MIDI data from DX7 Librarian regardless of installation of OMS.
About auto-connection to OMS:
1) If the stdio setup currently used has DX7, DX7II, DX7S, DX7/E!, DX7/E! v2, TX7, TX802 or TX816, DX7 Librarian connect to them automatically. And the maximum number of the synth is set to 256 now. (I can't imagine 256 DX7's are connected to one Mac, can you? So I think 256 is enough.)
2) If the studio setup doesn't have DX7..., DX7 Librarian outs MIDI data by port, Modem port and Printer port. (Connection for input port is the same.)
